Evidence-based Treatment

I am passionate about providing quality service to meet your mental health needs.

Evidence-based treatment relies on scientific research and empirical evidence to guide treatment. This means using therapies that have been proven effective through research and studies, rather than relying on personal opinions or beliefs.  The goal of evidence-based psychotherapy is to provide the most effective treatment possible for individuals seeking therapy.

I integrate evidence-based modalities and tailor my approach to fit your uniquely individualized needs. A few of the modalities I use are explained below.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based type of psychotherapy that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. It is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected and that by changing one, we can positively impact the others. It involves working together to learn new coping skills and strategies for managing difficult emotions and situations.

Exposure Response Prevention

Exposure therapy is a type of behavioral therapy that is used to treat anxiety disorders. The therapy involves exposing the patient to the feared object or situation in a gradual and controlled manner, with the goal of reducing their anxiety and fear over time. This process helps the patient learn that the object or situation is not as dangerous as they originally believed, and they can cope with it without experiencing overwhelming anxiety. Exposure therapy is considered an effective treatment for conditions such as phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Third-Wave Therapy Approach

Third-wave therapy is a type of psychotherapy that evolved from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). It emphasizes the acceptance and mindfulness of one's thoughts and emotions, rather than trying to change or control them. Third-wave therapies include approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). These therapies aim to help individuals develop a more accepting and compassionate relationship with their thoughts and feelings to achieve comprehensive life goals.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy that was developed to help individuals who struggle with emotional regulation and interpersonal relationships. DBT focuses on teaching individuals skills to manage intense emotions, communicate effectively, and maintain healthy relationships. It combines various treatment approaches to help individuals build a life worth living.

Psychological Testing

Psychological testing is a process of assessing an individual's cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning. It involves the use of standardized tests and assessments to measure various aspects of a person's mental health, such as intelligence, personality traits, emotional states, and mental disorders. Psychological testing can help diagnose psychological problems, identify strengths and weaknesses, and inform treatment plans. It is often used by mental health professionals, schools, and employers to gain insights into an individual's mental and emotional well-being.

Integrative Approach

An integrative therapeutic approach combines various therapeutic modalities to address a client's needs. It takes a holistic approach, taking into account the client's physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. Throughout your therapeutic journey, I weave in skill-building tools from different therapy modalities that may fit your various needs. The goal is to provide a personalized and comprehensive approach that can be continuously adapted as needed.

What My Clients Say

- Katherine, C.

"I cannot recommend Dr. Danielle Gardini enough. I have been a patient for almost 3 years now and I feel like have made more progress in the first month or two of therapy than I did with a previous therapist for 5. She is extremely knowledgeable and a wonderful listener. I had a lot of anxiety, rumination, attachments, a hard time with relationship long term breakup, etc and always felt comfortable talking with Dr.Gardini. Never feeling any judgement or shame. She makes you feel actually heard and offers many thought provoking questions as well as homework type assignments to help between sessions. She gave me plenty of worksheets and actual tools to help me to recognize my feelings and needs as well as ways to cope and work on my issues. She's helped with introducing nonviolent communication to improve my current relationship, as well as breathing techniques and CBT; real ways to help yourself and feel better. I was feeling like an overwhelmed and anxious mess before starting sessions with Dr. Danielle and her advice and support has helped me come a long way and continue to do so when new stressors or events come up. Change is definitely not my strong suit and I was hesitant to "start over" with a new therapist, but it was the best thing I ever did. Her life experiences and patience to me is unmatched and shows how much she truly cares about her patients. Never rushed and always flexible with scheduling and any conflicts as well. I cannot recommend Dr. Danielle enough, and am grateful for all of her help."
